The increased number of collisions foreseen in the high-luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider require upgrading the Compact Muon Solenoid so that it can cope with the increased radiation. Additionally the number of collisions per bunch crossing will increase, so the detector's subsystems have to record enough information in order to correctly reconstruct the interactions. Therefore, the muon tracking drift tubes in Compact Muon Solenoid will have their read-out electronics exchanged for new design that also records time stamps. As their installation date nears, the on-board drift tube electronics need to be thoroughly tested.
