Description

While many of the Higgs couplings have already been measured with remarkable precision, the structure of the Higgs potential is still largely unconstrained. In this context, Higgs-boson pair production plays a special role, as it provides direct access to the Higgs self-coupling.
In this talk, I will present results for Higgs-boson pair production in gluon fusion at hadron colliders at next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) QCD matched to parton showers within the MiNNLOPS framework. Since the full top-quark mass dependence at this order is not available, I will show how finite top-quark mass effects can be incorporated through different approximations using the available amplitudes in the full theory and I will discuss their impact on different observables. I will also compare the results with existing NNLO calculations matched to parton showers from GENEVA and present phenomenological results for different Higgs-decay channels and variations of the trilinear Higgs coupling.
