DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Valerie Kummer\, John Lygeros (ETH Zurich)\, Timm Fa
ulwasser (Hamburg University of Technology)\, Matthias Voigt (UniDistance
Suisse)\, Benjamin Unger (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)\n\nThe system
s and control community lies at the intersection of mathematics and engine
ering and addresses key challenges in the modeling\, simulation\, optimiza
tion\, and control of complex dynamical systems. This field raises numerou
s theoretical and mathematical questions with direct relevance to pressing
technological initiatives - such as the development of digital twins\, th
e transformation of energy networks\, and the design of intelligent contro
l algorithms for future infrastructure. One prominent theme is the dissipa
tion of energy to the environment\, which plays a central role in determin
ing the efficiency\, stability\, and operating cost of such systems. Moder
 n energy-based modeling paradigms\, such as port-Hamiltonian systems\, ena
ble a rigorous description of energy flows within and across subsystems. T
hese structures offer significant advantages for simulation\, optimization
\, and control by allowing practitioners to exploit the physical propertie
s and intrinsic dissipativity of the systems under consideration.\nThe 3rd
Brig Workshop on Dissipativity in Systems and Control will focus on this
interdisciplinary domain and provide a platform for exchanging ideas at th
e forefront of dissipativity theory. The program will cover:\n\nthe use of
dissipative and port-Hamiltonian structures in control\, simulation\, and
  optimization\,\nenergy-based modeling techniques\,\nstructure-preserving
model order reduction\, and\nmachine learning and data-driven control appr
 oaches.\n\n\nhttps://indico.kit.edu/event/5354/
