Description

In an era of increasing social polarization, many people want to take a stand but worry about their professional security. This workshop explores how to turn a commitment to diversity and inclusion into effective, safe practice.
At the heart of our approach is Allyship: the conscious act of standing up for marginalized groups and amplifying their voices. To do this effectively, we must first examine our own privileges to understand exactly where and how we can best support others. Only through this self-reflection does Allyship become a powerful tool for dismantling structural barriers.
Learning Objectives & Focus Areas:
• Awareness: Understanding diversity, bias, and their impact on our daily actions.
• Reflection: Recognizing privilege and structural inequality within our own environments.
• Practice: Developing concrete Allyship strategies for an inclusive community.
• Commitment: Developing a clear personal stance and a dedication to being a true ally long after the training.
This program is designed for students and academics at all levels who want to actively challenge discrimination and foster a culture of open dialogue.
