 ectric fields"\nAbstract: The longitudinal development of cosmic ray induc
 ed air showers depends on the nature of the first interaction and its stud
 y could shed light on particle physics at high center of mass energies. So
  far\, the longitudinal development has been measured by fluorescence tele
 scopes\, which have limited statistics. In addition\, the depth of shower 
 maximum has been deduced indirectly from measurements of particles or radi
 o waves on the surface. In this contribution\, I demonstrate that by mappi
 ng the time dependence of the measured electric field to slant depth along
  the axis of the air shower\, a measure of the longitudinal profile of rad
 io-wave emission can be obtained. I will show that this field mapping prof
 ile can be correlated to the longitudinal particle profile.\n \nchair: Ti
