Galactic and extragalactic cosmic rays and magnetic fields

Julius Wess Award Lecture by Glennys Farrar

These six lectures aim to provide a rather comprehensive picture of our current knowledge and understanding of astrophysical magnetic fields and cosmic rays, including how they are measured, their origin and some of their impacts. Major advances in these topics over the past years have not only elucidated them and exposed the limitations of our knowledge, but also revealed their importance to other problems in astrophysics, cosmology and fundamental physics of the early universe.
