Release Notes
- Consistent Treatment of parametrization in Bremsstrahlung
- new photohadronic interaction
- minor enhancements and fixes, not too relevant for CORSIKA
- changes in the cascade file causing errors (not seen at high cuts, but with lower cuts it is now a major bug since 3 months)
- we need to understand the cascade file and be really careful with changes, even with correct model inputs from proposal and radio, this can mess up things
Energy range discussion
- Dieter Heck: About 20 reports should be available online on the webpage concerning CORSIKA 7: https://web.iap.kit.edu/heck/publications/Welcome.html
- Propagation unstable for cuts lower than 4 MeV
- 500 keV minimum kinetic particle energy for electrons necessary for radio
- not necessary to propagate particles below 50 keV, since they just spiral in the earth magnetic field
LPM
- Alex presented the concept to include the LPM effect, which should be the same as in CORSIKA 7
- also two further approaches were shown to include the lpm effect in continuous losses
