Description
    • 5:00 PM 5:15 PM
      Update on C8 benchmarks 15m
Speaker: Nikos Karastathis (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)

Nikos tries to run some benchmarks

A C7 shower with 10 PeV primary energy and 2 MeV cuts for em particles takes 40 minutes

The same with C8 was still running after 4 hours

Without EM part in C8, the C8 shower took 50 minutes; could it be PROPOSAL that takes a lot of time?

Tim suggests to run some benchmarks of PROPOSAL against other codes such as EGS

    • 5:15 PM 5:25 PM
      Runtimes with different energies 10m
      Speaker: Jannik Augscheller

      Update on "cascade fix" 15m
Speaker: Maximilian Reininghaus (KIT / IAP)

Max changed the interfaces so that differential quantities are used, as discussed

He is working on the process interface to adapt to the new structur

      The CORSIKA-Tools repository 15m
Speaker: Maximilian Reininghaus (KIT / IAP)

There is a new corsika-tools repository, in which things like plotting scripts can be uploaded

      https://gitlab.iap.kit.edu/AirShowerPhysics/corsika-tools

For now there is Andre's blender visualization

If you have code that could be useful for others, say for visualization, histogramming, ..., please put them there

We do not enforce coding conventions or the likes on these tools

It would be good to provide some minimal explanation (e.g. command-line to use) and show an example plot and what comes out
