The 4th Workshop on the Physics and Applications of Magnetic Microcalorimeters will take place at the Gastdozentenhaus Karlsruhe, located on the main campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The workshop is organized by the Institute of Micro- and Nanoelectronic Systems (IMS).
The aim of the workshop is to discuss the latest developments and achievements in the field of magnetic microcalorimeters (MMCs) in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Rather than focusing exclusively on highly polished, conference-style presentations, the workshop is intended to provide ample opportunity for open discussions about the “devil in the details”, the practical challenges that arise during detector development, fabrication, and operation.
Topics may include measurement-related issues, fabrication challenges, data analysis, detector optimization, ideas for new projects and experiments, as well as practical tips and tricks gained through day-to-day experience. We especially encourage participants to present work in progress, preliminary ideas, or unresolved questions that would benefit from discussion within the MMC community.
Ultimately, the workshop is intended to be a meeting of MMC colleagues and friends who share the common goal of advancing this detector technology and exploring its full scientific and technological potential.
