Scientific Program

  • Main Collaboration Meeting 9th-11th March

As usual we will have our 2 1/2 day main meeting covering the status of the setup, strategic devolpements and data analysis. In addition we will have summary talks of the satellite meetings as well as from the STS workshop of 3rd&4th Feb. Proposals for talks have to be sent to markus.steidl@kit.edu and katharina.fischer@kit.edu. The deadline for registration and submission of presentations is sharp on Friday 24th February.

As usual, we will have plenary and parallel sessions. Speaker times in plenary sessions are between 20 and 30 minutes and in the parallel sessions around 15 minutes. Details depend on the number of announced talks.

Place: Plenary talks are presented in building 401 room 410, parallel sessions also in building 425.

    Time: 9th March 9:00 - 11th March 13:00

Contact: Markus Steidl and Katharina Fischer

  • Analysis Workshop 11th March

The objective of this workshop is to continue ongoing discussions on data quality assurance procedures and the required intermediate analysis software layer. Strategical issues regarding the implementation of data quality cuts and the corresponding design decisions for new software elements will be addressed.

    Time: 11th March, 14:00-18:00
    Place: Building 401, Room 410
    Contact: Kathrin Valerius

  • STS Workshop March 8th

In this workshop we collect and discuss measurement proposals for the measurement phase III b-d, i.e. the phases in which the tritium concentration is ramped up from small contamination levels in the source up to 5%.

Expected duration: March 8th, 9:00-15:00, B401, R410. Contact: Kathrin Valerius

  • SDS Workshop 7th March

This workshop will give a brief recap on the results of the previous SDS
measurement phases and our current understanding of the spectrometer background processes. The focus of the workshop will be on planning the upcoming SDS3 measurement phase which is expected to start in summer.
Expected duration: March 7th, 14:00-18:00, KIT Campus North, Build. 401, Room 410, Contact: Florian Fränkle

  • Calibration Workshop 7th March

For KATRIN it is essential to have a reliable energy scale for consistent analysis of the neutrino data. Therefore adequate calibration and monitoring of the retarding potential is to be established.
The aim of the workshop is to sum up the options we have with the available methods (GKrS in WGTS, CKrS in CPS, SKrS in MoS, tritium end point and classical electric methods) and based on this, to propose a monitoring and calibration scheme.

    Time: 9:00-12:00
    Place: B425, R206
    Contact: Klaus Schlösser

  • FBM workshop 7th March

Updates on the current status of the FBM as well as outstanding issues and problems. Focus on the upcoming move from Wuppertal to KIT.

    Time: 7th March, 14:00-18:00
    Place: Building 425
    Contact: Stephanie Hickford

  • Electron Tagger discussion group 7th March

Discussion of the current status of the electron tagger, the need to consider a superconducting cavity and the issues facing its implementation.

    Monday, 9:00 - 12:00, KIT CN, B402, R224
