Abstract
Whether you are presenting at a conference, defending your work before a committee, or communicating your research to a broader audience, how you present your scientific work matters. Years of research and hard work can lose their impact when the message is unclear, overly complex, or difficult to remember. In this topical course we will explore what makes a scientific presentation clear, engaging and memorable, focusing on how to structure a story, communicate complex ideas at the right level of detail, and how to receive and give feedback. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own presentation style, brainstorm with colleagues, have hands-on experience and receive practical tips to develop a clearer understanding of what makes a scientific presentation "better".
